Welfare Assistance
What We Do:
The Town of Gilmanton Welfare Department provides interim emergency assistance for low income residents through a voucher system. Requests may be made through a written application process, including an initial assessment intake. Eligibility is based on a financial review of basic needs and available application resources.
Welfare assistance includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Electric/Gas Emergencies
- Food
- Prescriptions
- Rent/Mortgage Assistance
Applications for general assistance are located at the Town Hall (503 Province Rd) and online.
Unless it is an emergency, applicant's need to complete the application to the best of their ability and gather all the required documentation, then contact the Welfare Administrator to schedule an appointment. If you have an emergency that was unexpected, contact the Welfare Administrator at 603-267-6700 Ext. 110 or via email at adavis@gilmantonnh.org. You will be contacted as soon as possible and directed on what steps to take, for assistance.
